EXPERIENCE
Dato’ Lee Khee Meng was appointed to the Board on 30 July 2021. He is responsible for overseeing and managing the Group’s overall plantation operations and is also a member of the Executive Committee.
He began his corporate career in 2000 as a Graduate Trainee in Corporate Banking at Public Finance Berhad (now known as Public Bank Berhad), where he was promoted to Senior Officer within 10 months. In 2002, he joined AXA Affin Assurance Berhad as a Business Analyst in its Corporate Planning and Business Development Department, where he supported senior management in strategic analysis, corporate planning and business development. In 2005, he joined United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Berhad as an Account Relationship Manager in the Commercial Lending Division and was also involved in the establishment of a new branch.
He subsequently served at Haus Living Concepts Sdn. Bhd. as Chief Financial Officer from 2006 to 2007 and as Director of Operations and Finance from 2007 to 2008. From 2008 to 2010, he was accepted under the United Kingdom’s Highly Skilled Migrant Programme and relocated to London, United Kingdom. During this period, he worked with property developers from mainland China with whom he had previously collaborated on furnishing projects, facilitating their investments in property development projects in the United Kingdom. Upon completion of the projects, he returned to Malaysia and joined RHB Bank Berhad in 2010 as an Outlet Manager, where he managed two branches in the Klang Valley during his tenure.
In 2011, he joined MKH Berhad as Finance Manager and was seconded to the Group’s plantation operations in Indonesia, where he gained hands-on operational experience and practical training in sustainable plantation practices. He subsequently rose through the ranks to become the Group’s Plantation Director in 2014. Following his appointment as Executive Director in 2021, he worked closely with the corporate team on the planning and preparation for the Company’s initial public offering. MKH Oil Palm (East Kalimantan) Berhad was successfully listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad on 30 April 2024.
He is actively involved in advancing sustainable palm oil practices and has participated in the Indonesia Palm Oil Conference as an international delegate since 2012, except during periods affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. He is regularly invited by authorities and industry stakeholders to share his perspectives on policies, industry initiatives, mechanisation and innovative practices relevant to the palm oil sector.
