ABOUT

Dato’ Dr Lee Bee Phang, aged 62 is a Malaysian female. She is the Independent Non-Executive Director of the Company and was appointed to the Board on 20 May 2022.

A summary of her qualification and working experience are set out below:



EDUCATION & QUALIFICATION
  • Bachelor of Social Science with Honours with specialisation in Economics from Universiti Sains Malaysia
  • Master of Social Science (Economics) from Universiti Sains Malaysia
  • Degree of Doctor of Philosophy from University of Malaya

EXPERIENCE
  • Began her career in 1987 as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (C/ASP) in Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) and posted to Department of Criminal Investigation, District Police of George Town, Penang in 1988. Over the years, promoted several times up to Senior Assistant Commissioner Police (SAC) in 2013
  • Seconded to Ministry of Home Affairs and joined Institute of Public Security of Malaysia as Director of Centre for National Blue Ocean Strategy, where she was responsible for formulating policies and strategies on crime prevention and national security of Malaysia in 2013. In 2014, promoted to Chief Executive Officer of Institute of Public Security of Malaysia, responsible to lead the unit to advise the Minister of Home Affairs on internal security matters. In 2015, promoted to Deputy Commissioner Police (DCP)
  • In 2018, returned to RMP as Deputy Chief of IGP Secretariat (Research & Development) at Police Headquarters Bukit Aman, and three (3) years later, in early 2021, she was promoted to Commissioner of Police (CP) and became the chief in the research and development unit where she was responsible for developing research and development plans and strategies, and facilitating in the development of operational SOPs for the police force. Retired from RMP in May 2021
  • Received the Malaysia Book of Records in 2021 for being the first Chinese Woman Commissioner of Police (CP)
  • In 2022, appointed as Security Consultant of Top Glove Corporation Berhad and Independent Non-Executive Director of Genting Malaysia Berhad
